Journey – trayecto (distance) The journey from Madrid to Valencia by train takes about 2 hours.
A journey can also be an extended travel (travesia) – “We went on a journey around South America.” – Hicimos una travesía por Suramérica.
Trip = viaje “I’m going on a trip to Stockholm next week.” / “ She’s on a business trip.”

Hello friends, this is Manuel from Paterna again, I would like to ask you for one or more piece of advice about travelling around British Island (the British Isles), especially Ireland.
I am thinking about it, so it will be welcome your comments (your comments would be welcome).
I have been not long ago in Malta (I was in Malta recently) and I’ve got a little experience driving on the left and speaking a little English (my speaking is so bad!) but this experience encourages me and my wife to travel around your islands by car.
I would like (to) drive around all the sea coast of Ireland (I don’t know why!) but it’s an idea that it is in my mind.
If you think there are other places better to visit, please tell us.

Reza’s first tip to Manuel. Never say “the British Isles” in Ireland! It’s a very contentious issue, though technically, yes, the island of Ireland is part of what some people call the British Isles.

1. Scotland’s North Coast 500 Duration: 4-7 days. Best for: escaping urban life and unexpected traffic jams, you can see Highland cows and stags (ciervo).

2. A circuit through Yorkshire’s finest – Best for: ale drinkers and cheese lovers.
Duration: 3 days.

3. Southwest England’s Atlantic Highway – Best for: surfers and wannabe hippies.

Duration: 4-5 days.

4. Northern Ireland’s coastal route, County Antrim – Best for: story-lovers and stargazers.
Duration: 3-5 days, the slow way. (But it can be done in a day from Belfast there and back)
(Reza, being from County Antrim, is extremely proud of this drive. Every time I spend at least a week in Ireland, I do this drive. I never get bored of it.
On a clear day you can actually see across the sea to the coast of Scotland.

5. The road to the isles of Scotland – Best for: historians and Harry Potter fans (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and JK Rowling have all stayed at super-luxe Inverlochy Castle.)
Duration: 2-3 days.

6. Chase Welsh dragons over the Black Mountain Pass – Best for: Top Gear fans.
How long: one day, though it’s far better to extend your trip and stay in the Brecon Beacons area for at least 48 hours.

Reza’s tip: Dark Hedges, Ballymoney, Northern Ireland – a very atmospheric road and must-see for “Game of Thrones” fans. Some famous scenes have been shot there.
